IntroductionMines Risk Education - Mines Awareness Training
Mines Information Training and Mine Risk Education gives an awareness of the action to be taken in the event of a mine strike and the field trip requirements when operating in a mines or unexploded ordnance (UXO) suspected area.

Aim
The aim of this module (Unit 3) is to detail the requirement for the Mines Awareness Training as required as part of duty of care for Mines Risk Education.

Policy
Mines Information Training is designed to give an awareness of the minimumstandard required when working in a mine suspected area. The minimum standard of training achieved must be the 4 hours Mines Awareness Presentation and practical exercise.

TrainingMines Risk Education - Mines Awareness Training
All personnel undergoing Hostile and Hazardous Environment Training are to achieve the minimum standard of Mines Awareness Training.

Mines Awareness Training can only be carried out by a Mines Awareness Advisor or Mines Risk Education Trainer.

Records and Certification
All personnel successfully completing the Mines Awareness Presentation will be certificated for 3 years. This information is recorded and is available for monitoring by the HSE.
